All About BSC Course | Salary, Subjects, Colleges, Jobs, Eligibility Criteria

There are a lot of common degrees like BCA, B.A., BBA, etc. majority of Indian student pursues. But when it comes to the B.Sc degree, it is the most common and most pursued degree.

B.Sc is a short form of Bachelor of Science, but many students don’t know that it is also a short form of Baccalaureus Scientiae, which is a Latin term.

B.Sc is a U.G. or undergraduate degree. The time of completing this degree depends on the country you choose to pursue it.

Cause in some, it takes about 3 years, and in some, it takes 5 years to complete it. But if we talk about India, then it takes about 3 years to complete it. The fee of BSC can go minimum to 10k-15k per year and a maximum it can go 80k-100k per year.

Throughout this B.Sc, you’ll learn about the basic aspects of Science like relativity, set theory, mechanics, analysis and vector algebra, inorganic transitions, biology, botany, mathematics, zoology, integral, thermodynamics, organic stereochemistry, chemistry, and physics.

Now, if someone wants to pursue a master’s degree after completing their B.Sc then they can go for an M.Sc ( Master of Science ).

To become more skilled in this field, you can also do Specializations during the B.Sc.

You can pursue this degree as a part-time or full-time. Many top-level universities like Delhi University, Calcutta University, and many other universities offer a full-time or part-time course option to the students.

If you are someone who is looking toward pursuing this degree, then you have arrived at the right article.

Because in this article, we are going to talk about almost B.Sc course like what is the admission process, what is the B.Sc course, eligibility criteria of B.sc course, job opportunity after B.Sc, and many more things.

So without any further due, let’s get started!

What is the BSC Course?

B.Sc or Bachelor of Science is a 3 to 5 years U.G. or Undergraduate degree. You might think that why 5 years, then the answer is, the time or duration to complete the degree depends on which country you choose to do it. But I talk about only India. Then the duration is 3 years.

Also, there are many branches of B.Sc, from which you can choose. Below I have given a list of those branches:-

  1. Agriculture
  2. Animation
  3. Biology
  4. Biotechnology
  5. Chemistry
  6. CS ( Computer Science )
  7. Fashion Design
  8. Hospitality
  9. Information Technology ( I.T. )
  10. Mathematics
  11. Nursing
  12. Psychology
  13. Physics
  14. Statistics

BSC Course Admission Process

Just like any other course or degree, B.Sc also has two ways for admission. Using these two ways, students can get admissions to colleges. The first method or way is direct or non-entrance exam way, and the second way is, get admission through the entrance examination. Let’s discuss both ways in brief.

Non-entrance exam or Direct Way

If a student chooses that he or she doesn’t want to give any entrance exam for their admission, then they can choose this Non-entrance exam or Direct Way. Eligibilities, for a direct way, are mentioned below.

  1. A candidate should have completed their 10+2 or 12th class with science stream.
  2. A student who is willing to apply for admission must have scored 55-60 percent in 12th or 10+2.

EEW ( Entrance Exam Way )

If you want to fight for your seat, then you can choose this EEW. Remember, all those eligibility requirements I have mentioned above for direct admission cause those will also be applied along with your entrance examination score to get admission to India’s top-level institutes or colleges. Now there are a lot of entrance examinations you can apply. I have mentioned those examinations in-depth below.

  • OUAT
  • UPCATET
  • AGRICET
  • PUBDET

OUAT

OUAT or Odhisa University of Agriculture and Technology examination conducts by the Odhisa University every year. Once a student clear their test, now he/she has an opportunity to apply for the admission for their various courses like BSc Agriculture, BSc Forestry, BVSc & AH, BSc Horticulture, BTech (Agriculture Engineering), etc.

UPCATET

Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology conducts the UPCATET examination every year to allow students to apply for their different kind of courses or programs like BSc (Hons) Agriculture, BTech Biotechnology, BSc (Hons) Horticulture, BSc (Hons) Forestry, BTech Mechanical Engineering, BTech Computer Science, BSc (Hons) Home Science, BTech Dairy Technology, etc.

AGRICET

Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural University conducts this AGRICET or Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural University common entrance test every year. Once a student qualifies for this AGRICET, now they can easily apply for admission. You will have an option to study for BSc in Agriculture and BSc in Horticulture at Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural University.
